Simple Home Cooking: 26 kid-approved dishes for everyday meals (Simpleng Lutong Bahay)
This 100% homemade cookbook is a family fundraising project. It is our expression of love and honour for our helper, Renelyn, for all that she has been to our family. Proceeds from the sale of this cookbook will go towards blessing her as she returns to the Philippines for the next chapter of her life.
Contains 26 easy to follow recipes in both English and Tagalog: Asian and Western one-dish meals, meat and vegetable side dishes, stews and soups, and desserts.
Mealtimes are precious moments to connect with your family. But sometimes getting to that precious moment can be a little stressful if we run out ideas for what is easy and healthy to prepare, especially if you have to cook regularly.
This cookbook - a labour of love in so many ways - will give you tried and tested, and, more importantly, kid-approved, dishes that your family will love to enjoy around the table.
Featuring delightful dishes served up over the years by my helper, Renelyn, and loved by my 3 kids (2, 4, and 6 years old), we hope that this cookbook will be a helpful guide in your journey of home cooking.
Available formats: Ebook and Printed Softcover.

We humbly request that you select payment via Paylah/Paynow at checkout. This will ensure that we can maximise the amount that we can pass to Renelyn, instead of having the various payment platforms take a cut.

Love the simple recipes that are quick and doable even for me (quite impossible and very limited repertoire in the kitchen, but am hoping to learn). Tried the minced beef fried rice, was yummy! Going to try creamy chicken spaghetti next, and maybe shepherd's pie! Thanks for breaking down the ingredients and giving a visual list of what the commonly used pantry items look like - such a thoughtful touch (: Appreciate the little tips sprinkled across the books too.
Thank you for your very heartfelt review, Linxin! Hope that your family will enjoy the next dishes that you've planned to try! - Jeannie
It’s in Tagalog and my helper has been using the recipe book for our lunches/ dinners.
Thanks for taking the time to review, Theresia!
I like the story behind the book, how personal and meaningful it is. It will be also useful to newer cooks like mums with young kids who seldom cook! (Like me) :)
Thanks for supporting the fundraiser and for taking the time to review, Lydia!
The simplicity of the instructions and the steps.
I love the short anecdote at the start of each recipe that gives a little glimpse in to each dish's backstory. This makes the cookbook extra meaningful and nostalgic, knowing that these recipes are tried and tested and have brought much joy. Looking forward to cooking through these and sharing in that joy with my family! I also like that it's bilingual! I don't have a helper at the moment, but I can imagine how lovely this would be for helpers to read in their heart language.
Thank you for supporting the fundraiser, and for taking the time to review, Helsa! :)
