What Am I Feeling?
What Am I Feeling?
“Sam,” said Dad "what you feel matters, but it doesn’t have to control you. Giving each feeling a name helps you know what to do with it.”
It’s show-and-tell day for little Sam, and he started his morning feeling flippy in his tummy. We follow along as he went to school, and see how his classmates each experienced various emotions in their different situations. Hudson’s feet were almost dancing and his mouth was one big grin. Alex clenched his fists, stomped his foot and was yelling. Sophie had tears in her eyes, and her earlier smile had become a frown.
Their teacher Mrs Stewart helped to guide everyone through their feelings, reminding them that they can talk to God about their feelings, and that they don’t have to be controlled by them.
Written by speakers, authors and marriage and family coaches Josh and Christi Straub, this simple story offers a biblically grounded way for children to verbalise their feelings, develop empathy and be able to bring them to God. Josh is also professor of child psychology.
